Systems thinking across domains
I've never stayed in one lane. Healthcare, astronomy, AI agent infrastructure, DIY engineering: the thread isn't the domain, it's the model.
Internal Tooling & Knowledge Systems
Building the tools that make entire organizations smarter. Central knowledge repositories, agent-assisted workflows, and systems that connect the people who have answers with the people who need them. Breaking down silos is the work I keep gravitating toward.
AI Agent Systems
Building agent architectures that maintain state across sessions, learn from their own usage, and fail gracefully under context pressure. OTP patterns applied to multi-agent coordination.
Real-World Systems Modeling
I turn physical systems into software. Celestial mechanics. House structures. Power systems. If a real-world system has rules, it can be modeled; a good model is the beginning of understanding.
Elixir / BEAM
8+ years on the BEAM. OTP supervision trees, GenServer-as-infrastructure, Phoenix LiveView, distributed systems. The conviction that Erlang got fault tolerance right and the rest of us are still catching up.
Integrations & Adapter Layers
I love the glue. Flexible adapter layers, data normalization, schema modeling across disparate systems. Turning vendor APIs, clinical data standards, and third-party platforms into something coherent your own code can reason about.
What I'm working on
- Ethermed Senior Elixir SWE
Healthcare technology: prior authorization and clinical workflow systems.
- Turning Sky Labs Founder
Digital twin of the sky in pure Elixir. Ephemeris computation, real-time 3D streaming, and MCP-accessible astronomical data; building toward a platform that correlates celestial mechanics with lived experience.
- Foxtrot Jellyfish Consulting / Open Source
Protocol design and AI agent infrastructure. The Substrate. The Cortex.
The long arc
Film school at Augsburg, coding bootcamp in Seattle, first production Elixir at Revelry Labs. Built e-commerce data normalization at TaxJar, rode the acquisition into Stripe, then went deep on healthcare: scheduling and referral networks at Blockit/Alluvium, now prior authorization at Ethermed.
The constant across every role: abstracting integration layers away from core systems so teams can work with clean, normalized data instead of fighting vendor APIs. I love internal tooling: breaking down knowledge silos and building the systems that make an entire organization smarter and faster.
Eight years on the BEAM. Lately, convinced that the same rigor that makes OTP great for distributed systems also makes it the right substrate for multi-agent AI, and the right way to connect people who have answers with people who need them.
